I Am So Excited About Universal Studios Orlando!! @UORnews

Universal Studios Orlando

Early this summer, we decided we would visit Orlando, Florida in December.  It seems though time has just flown by, and here it is, already mid November!  We are looking forward to some time away, and the highlight of our trip will be the two days we spend at the Universal Studios Theme Parks.

Universal Studios Orlando

Universal Studios Florida® is a Fantastic Family Vacation Destination.  The property has so many features and attractions, that there is sure to be something to please everyone.

The main park has a real, working TV and film production area.  My family will enjoy rides, shows, movie sets and attractions that will put us right into the picture.  We'll find out how television shows and movies are made, and see ourselves in scenes from some of our favorite shows and movies.  The main park has Men in Black™, the ET® attraction, and Feivel's® Playground.  Coming in 2012, there will be a new Despicable Me area as well.  There is also shopping and dining available throughout the park.

Since our visit coincides with Christmas time, we will also be treated to some special Holiday events.   Santa will be a part of the Christmas Parade which features many of the same floats and balloons from the Macy's Thanksgiving Day gala.  We will shop at Holiday Village, and we may even catch a live performance by Manheim Steamroller.

Little ones can enjoy some fun with their favorite cartoon friends in the StarToons Holiday Show, and have more fun with Barney® who will also be ringing some holiday cheer.  Our boys are a little too old for that, but if we decide to see the Blues Brothers sing some Christmas tunes, they will be treated  to a little bit of snow, too!
Did you know that Universal has a second park?  Islands of Adventure® is also gearing up for the season and will be presenting a special Grinchmas™ Wholiday Special. I can't wait to see this wintry wonderland which will be featuring recorded music by Manheim Steamroller.

The Grinch™ will be making appearances throughout the park for photos and autographs, but serious Seuss fans should book a reservation for the character breakfast with a variety of Dr. Seuss legends. The photos and autographs will add priceless memories to an already magical trip.

Guests staying at the three on-site hotels will also have access to plenty of special holiday treats exclusive to their lodging.  Choosing resort accommodations also comes with many other benefits including free SKIP passes to park attractions.

What our boys absolutely can't stop talking about, is the Wizarding World of Harry Potter™.  Reading through the books with their father has been a very special part of the past year, and they can't wait to see Hogwarts™ Castle! It will be so much fun to visit all of the classrooms secret passageways, and hallowed halls.  We'll experience so much of the fun, even Quiddich!

They are quite excited to try the butterscotch/shortbread goodness of Butter Beer, and I can't wait to snap the photo of them with their Butter Beer mustaches!

According to the website, we will:
Visit the shops of Hogsmeade™, including Honeydukes™, Zonko's™ Joke Shop, Ollivanders™ and more. Dine at the Three Broomsticks™. Plus experience new pulse-pounding rides including Dragon Challenge™, Flight of the Hippogriff™ and Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey™, a state-of-the-art attraction that brings the magic, characters, and stories of Harry Potter™ to life in ways never before imagined.
From what I have seen, it is really quite amazing.  They have done a fantastic job of keeping it true to the films, and have thought of all of the small details.  It is quite possible I am more excited than my children!

But that's not all...   Islands of Adventure™ also has Marvel Superhero Island®, Toon Lagoon®, Jurassic Park®, The Lost Continent®, and Suess Landing™.
