My Comfort Cross ~ A Review and Giveaway ~ Two winners ends 4/14

The Comfort Cross is made from a single piece of olive wood that has been pruned from one of the Olive trees around Bethlehem, the birthplace of Jesus.  Hand carved by local Christian artisans, a Comfort Cross measures about 4 inches by 2.5 inches, and is about half an inch thick.  It is designed to fit comfortably  in the palm of the hand.  It is smooth to the touch and the edges are rounded making it perfect for keeping the focus on prayer and meditation, or simply to clasp onto to calm anxiety, fear or frustration.

I love the beautiful Olive wood for both its symbolism and its beauty.  The Olive tree or branch is mentioned so often in the Bible, and has also provided (and continues to provide) so much.   Food, oil for lamps, cooking, anointing, as well as beautiful, hard timber.  these evergreens can live for thousands of years.  The leaves have been used to crown Olympic victors.

"The wood is from the tree of life, those who embrace her;
those who lay hold of her will be blessed."
Proverbs 3:18
For hundreds of years, Christians have been creating these beautiful pieces with their own hands as keepsakes for pilgrims and visitors to bring home from their visits to the Holy Land. They have used the proceeds to support their families and the Christian community.

Unfortunately, with the decline in tourism to Bethlehem, these artisans are now struggling.  The mission of the MyComfortCross.com website is to help them continue with their work by creating an internet market for their wares.
