Chicken Soup For the Soul – Country Music

Chicken Soup for the Soul: Country Music

The latest release from Chicken Soup for the Soul is a Country Music edition.  The stories behind 101 of country’s most popular tunes are told in this 416 page paperback volume.
Often, lyric writers are overshadowed by the artists who sing their words.  This book gives them a spotlight.  The tales that accompany the tunes will take you through a myriad of emotions.  There are songs about falling in love, parenthood, the music business, faith, patriotism, working, and of course, the famous country songs about true love gone wrong.
The story that really touched me the most was the one behind the song, Delta Dawn, written by Alex Harvey.   Apparently, I’m not alone, because when I read the foreword and the introduction both writers mentioned that song, too.
If you’re a fan of Country Music, you’ll probably enjoy this book, and gain a deeper appreciation for some of your favorite songs, too.
Songs tell a story, and now many of country music's most famous singers and songwriters are sharing more of the story! These artists reveal the inspiration, influence, and background, and when and why they wrote their most famous songs, in this fresh collection of stories. The book also includes great photos of the songwriters and lyrics of many of the songs. A great gift for anyone who loves country music!
Chicken Soup For the Soul, Country Music, is available through, Barnes and Noble online and most retail booksellers.

The book is written by Jack Canfield, Mark Victor Hansen and music journalist Randy Rudder.  Ken Kragen, who has managed some huge names in music provides the foreword.
