TheraBreath Multi-Symptom Probiotic Review and Lozenge Giveaway

therabreath

I became a loyal TheraBreath consumer in February.  I was given the toothpaste, mouth rinse and lozenges  developed by Dr. Harold Katz in order to do a product review.  I was so impressed by my super clean mouth that I have not gone back to my old brand.

When the company contacted me last month and told me they had a new probiotic product I was excited to have the opportunity to try it out.  I use probiotic products for overall health on a regular basis, but until now, most were made to keep the lower digestive system healthy.   Since the digestive tract begins in the mouth, it only makes sense that the upper half needs its naturally occurring flora kept in healthy balance, too.

Our bodies have naturally occurring bacteria that produce enzymes to help with digestion, to fight off infection, and sustain health.  Any number of things can disrupt the production of the beneficial bacteria.   Diet, illness, traditional mouthwashes with alcohol or  certain medications (especially antibiotics) - can all upset this delicate balance.   After clinical studies, it was found that children with no cavities had certain strains of bacteria which loosened and dissolved the substance that hold plaque together, and dissolved the cell walls of harmful bacteria.

Because of these studies, the TheraBreath company was able to develop their new Multi Symptom Probiotic Home Treatment System using these findings.

The seven day treatment is fairly easy to use.  Each dose comes pre-measured in its own packet.  The packets are dissolved in a small amount of water and set aside while brushing.  When the teeth are clean, the mixture is used to rinse the mouth for 60 seconds, followed by a 30 second gargle.  If anything is left over, it's used for another mouth rinse.   On the first day, it is used in the morning and evening, then for five days, it's used for the evening only.  On the last day it is used n the morning and evening again.  The Multi Symptom Probiotic Formula should be used once a month for optimum results.

I was pleasantly surprised by the taste of  this product.  The powder, when dissolved, has a light lemon lime flavor and it leaves a nice taste in my mouth.

The timing of this review was great.  I had the benefit of trying it out during our full fledged allergy season.  Pollen is leaving its dusty cover everywhere, trees and flowers are blooming, and every day a neighbor is cutting the grass.  My post nasal drip is in full swing, irritating my throat, eyes and ears.  I was really able to put this to the test.

Here's what  I noticed after only a couple of days.  I was not using anything for my ear congestion, my scratchy throat was gone, and my sensitive teeth were not bothered by the coolness of the rinse.  My mouth did seem even a little bit cleaner, too.   I especially love how clean TheraBreath products leave my tongue.

Here is what the website says:
TheraBreath Multi Symptom Oral Care Probiotic is part of a new generation of probiotics that are very targeted in terms of their benefits. The BLIS probiotic strains used in this new TheraBreath product were discovered to be naturally occurring in the oral cavities of a very small percentage of children who showed a natural resistance to cavities, sore throats, ear aches and bad breath. BLIS strains selectively target hostile bacteria responsible for various oral cavity related illnesses while allowing beneficial oral flora to remain intact. This prevents compromising your body's natural immunity to disease, which can sometimes happen after antibiotic treatments.
I found that my personal experience is backing up these claims.

You can purchase the TheraBreath Multi Symptom Probiotics from their website. A box includes a detailed information and instruction booklet (with coupons) the 9 packets or probiotic formula to be used over one week's time, and a small tube of Original TheraBreath Toothpaste. It costs $28.00 per monthly treatment.
The TheraBreath company has made another generous offer for my readers.  One of you will win a box of their Mouth Wetting Lozenges.  This 100 count dispenser package has a retail value of $13.00.

These citrus/mint lozenges use a two step process to clean and freshen the mouth, then a third stage is used to stimulate the production of saliva, the body's natural germ fighter.
