Country Dance 2 for Wii

Country Dance 2 For Wii was released earlier this month, and it is a great choice for country fans who want to work up a sweat.

There are four modes of game play - so it is possible to play alone, or with up to four people if you have enough Wii remotes.

In the screen shot to the left, you will see that it is an animated game.  The figures in the purple boxes are showing the players which movements to copy, with arrows to direct movement.  There are different levels of ability, so new players can take it easy and work their way up.

Dancing can also be done with a partner, for an added difficulty.  The exercise mode tracks calories.

A word of caution, the lyrics come up on the screen.  This is mostly fun, and great for singling along, but some of the songs (in my opinion) might merit a a slightly higher than E10 rating.  Here's the list of songs included:
  • Ashton Shepherd – “Look It Up”
  • Billy Currington – “People Are Crazy”
  • Blake Shelton – “Honey Bee”
  • Brad Paisley – “Old Alabama”
  • Carrie Underwood – “All American Girl”
  • Chad Brownlee – “Carried Away”
  • Chris Heers – “Dirt Rich”
  • Dierks Bentley – “Sideways”
  • Easton Corbin – “Roll With It”
  • Eric Church – “Hell On The Heart”
  • Frankie Ballard – “A Buncha Girls”
  • George Strait – “Here For A Good Time”
  • Gwyneth Paltrow – “Shake That Thing”
  • Hayley McLean – “Good Time Bone”
  • Hunter Hayes – “Storm Warning”
  • Jake Owen – “Barefoot Blue Jean Night”
  • Jason Aldean – “My Kinda Party”
  • Joanna Smith – “Gettin’ Married”
  • Josh Kelley – “Georgia Clay”
  • Josh Thompson – “Won’t Be Lonely Long”
  • Katie Armiger – “Best Song Ever”
  • Keith Urban – “Better Life”
  • Kellie Pickler – “Tough”
  • Lady Antebellum – “Lookin For a Good Time”
  • Little Big Town – “Little White Church”
  • Luke Bryan – “Country Girl”
  • Miranda Lambert – “Gunpowder & Lead”
  • Montgomery Gentry – “What Do Ya Think About That”
  • Rodney Atkins – “Take A Back Road”
  • The JaneDear Girls – “Wildflower”
  • The Last Ride– “Take You Down”
Playing is easy.  Or, I should say, the idea is easy.  Getting up and dancing along can be difficult, but it is great for some laughs!  Who knows, over time, we might even develop some super cool country dance moves!

Put the disc into the Wii, grab a remote, and follow along.  It is fun enough that making mistakes brings on laughter rather than frustration.. and that's my favorite kind of game.

There is no mat to register foot movement.  The players only need properly working remotes to follow the moves as shown on the television screen.

Released just in time for the holidays, this will make a great gift for the country music lover on your list.

I received a copy of this game in exchange for my honest, blogged review.  I was not paid to write this post and y opinions are genuine.
