If you have been enjoying all of the fresh produce that is available during the summer time, and creating some amazing dishes to bring to barbecues and pot lucks, and stirring up pitches of iced tea or lemonade...

... chances are that at least once -  you have bitten into fresh fruit and tasted a wee bit of the chicken glaze, or had a gulp of tea that was slightly reminiscent of the leftover 7 layer dip.

Nothing ruins great food like unintended hybrid flavors!  And while we love the fresh produce, sometimes, the fresher - the more smelly.  I am not a big fan of opening the door and being knocked over by a wave of eau de organic strawberries!

A box of powder doesn't really cut it for the strong scents, and most of the offerings on the marker are either masking scents or absorbing some of the odors.  The Oransi Ionic Air Purifier does more.

It cleans the air - not just of scent, but of bacteria, too.  You can have odorlessand clean air in your fridge.

As you can see, it is a very small unit.  There it is - sitting next to the eggs - a mere four inches tall, and less than three inches wide.
Don't be fooled by its size.  It may be small, yes, but it is mighty!

Running on just two AA batteries, it cycles on and off periodically.  When it turns on, it is using ion technology to zap odors and kill germs.  I noticed the neutral air rather quickly - in less than 24 hours!  Less noticeable, but even more importantly, my refrigerator is being continuously sanitized - which will reduce food spoilage.  (so if we forget leftovers they won't turn to science projects as quickly!)

Oransi Air Purifier
Inside the box I found the purifier, carefully wrapped and stabilized and the instructions for use.

Set up was easy.
  1. Remove unit from box
  2. Insert 2 new AA batteries using proper +/- placement
  3. Put the unit in the fridge
When I started it up, the unit ran for about half an hour, continuously.  After that, it runs for about five minutes at a time, throughout the day.

The LED light on the front blinks while the purifier is working.  If the light begins to blink constantly, it means the batteries are running low, and should be replaced.  Fresh batteries generally last at least 45 and up to 90 days, depending on the brand.

That's it!  There is no filter to replace, and only minor cleaning, which should be done when the batteries are removed.  Just wipe the surfaces clean, and you're done!

The manufacturer notes on the packaging that this air purifier could also be used in a closet or cloakroom - it would probably also work well for a laundry room, if it were small.  Our laundry is behind folding doors - and I think it would be a perfect place - and I will definitely be picking up another!

A new unit is normally $39.00.  It is currently available for the sale price of $29.00 - and shipping is FREE!  Order yours from the website, where they happily accept PayPal.  Shipping is quick, and as I mentioned, free.  (can you tell how much I love free shipping?)

The company has also, quite graciously, allowed me to host a giveaway.  One of my readers will win his or her own Oransi Ionic Fridge Air Purifier!  If you would like to try your luck, please use the Rafflecopter form below.  Be careful to follow directions, as entries will be verified!  The form will close at 12:01 AM on July 30th.
