This October, E.T. Will be Available For the First Time On BluRay - Digitally Remastered and Loaded with Bonus Material

ET BD Combo Pack Small

This Year, Universal Studios is celebrating their 100th Anniversary.  It is also the 30th Anniversary of the well loved movie, E.T.  (That makes me feel so incredibly old!)

They are marking the milestones, but the fans can celebrate, too.   I was so excited to read that E.T was up for  a special edition on Blu-ray™ release on October 9.

As you can probably imagine, it will be digitally remastered and deliver much better resolution than an ordinary DVD, and the sound will be better, too.  The movie is rated PG and runs 115 minutes.

Here is what you'll get if you pick up the Extra-Terrestrial Anniversary Edition Blu-ray™ Combo Pack:

  • The 1982 theatrical movie
  • An all-new interview with director Steven Spielberg
  • “The E.T. Journals” featuring never-before-seen footage from the set of the film.
  • The Blu-ray™ Disc, UltraViolet™,  Standard DVD and a Digital Copy of the film
  • Hours of Bonus features including Deleted Scenes, A Look Back, and an E.T Reunion
I like these new combo packs, because they allow me to watch the movie anytime, anywhere, on the platform of my choice.

In case there is anyone unfamiliar with the movie:

In 1982, E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial became the biggest blockbuster of the year, ranking #1 over 16 different weekends. Even today, E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial remains the fourth most successful movie of all-time1 in the United States. Nominated for nine Academy Awards® including Best Picture, Best Director, Best Cinematography, Best Writing and Best Screenplay, the film took home four statuettes for Best Visual Effects, Best Sound Effects Editing, Best Sound and Best Music for John Williams’ (Jaws) memorable score. The unforgettable cast includes the adorable Drew Barrymore (He’s Just Not That Into You, Charlie’s Angels), Henry Thomas (Dear John, Legends of the Fall), Dee Wallace (10, “Sons and Daughters”) and Peter Coyote (“Law & Order: LA,” Jagged Edge).

Now I have a sudden craving for Reese's Pieces!
