One of the first things I learned growing up Christian is that we were created to love.  It's all about love.  I serve God by serving my fellow man - I know that we are all children of God.  The question is, do I always see Him in my fellow man - or am I blind?

Watch this DVD and follow Darren Wilson as he and his team travel the world in search of the true face of God.  Many people feel He is a vengeful and angry ruler - detached and punishing.  Sometimes the very ones who preach His words are the ones who pass on this image.

I believe he is a patient father.  My God is endless Mercy and a Daddy (Abba, Father) who hopes that I will turn to him to receive the outpouring of love and the amazing grace that He has to offer.  One of the more interesting moments in the documentary happens when Wilson recognizes his own prejudices toward those who don't believe the same way that he does.

The film is interesting, and provides plenty of material for thought.  It was a wonderful reminder that with love and faith great things are possible.  That said, some of the things that Darren Wilson believes are not in alignment with my Catholic faith. I was skeptical at times, but at least we both line up when it comes to believing that the Gospel of Jesus is the greatest love story ever told.

Another area where Mr. Wilson agree is here: if people do not see the love of Christ in my actions, they are not as powerful, and not as meaningful.
Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal.  And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, but have not love, it profits me nothing. 1 Corinthians 13: 1-3
Father of Lights presents God as a loving Father.

Oh, as an FYI, the film is shot from hand held recorders, so the picture jumps around a bit, and the sound quality varies.  This is also a PG film.  There are scenes and themes that are not suitable for young children.
