Martin Taylor is stressed out.  He is feeling pressure at work, he is having a string of bad luck, and he is concerned because his wife and kids are all going in their own directions without connecting.  To make matters worse, his brother Sam (who has always been a bit overbearing) is convinced the world is a breath away from apocalypse.  He gives Martin a survivalist DVD and urges him to watch it.

After a rough day with his family, Martin actually watches the DVD.  Something about the message rings true for him, and he decides that the Taylor Family needs the "3 Day Test".  Three days in survivalist mode. No electricity, running water or heat.  At first, it looks as though there may be mutiny - but luck is in Martin's favor.  His family comes around and surprisingly, the three days that follow are more than he hoped for.

The movie is set during the Christmas season, and perhaps it is a bit of a Christmas miracle - but the self imposed house arrest with no distractions brings them all together.  It allows Martin to reconnect with his wife, get to know his teenage daughter who actually WANTS her dad in her life, coax his ten year old son out from the digital world, and the whole family begins to listen to the youngest daughter, who watches hours of faith TV and has a lot of wisdom to share.  Martin even gets a chance to stand up to his bully of a brother once and for all - in a hilarious fashion that everyone here enjoyed.

The DVD Bonus Features Include:
  • Connecting With Family:  Corbin Bernsen and 3 Day Test
  • A Message From Corbin Bersnsen
  • The Cast Reflects on Their 3 Day Test
  • Deleted Scenes
  • Previews for Other Movies
The Taylor's family dog also has her own sub-story going on .  Have you ever wondered how they get dogs to perform on screen?  The pet handlers for this movie used Bil-Jac treats.  There is a traditional recipe and the Gooberlicious variety which has peanut butter!
