Don't we all have marks, and stains and scars? I think this is why all children will love this book - it uncovers the truth about how God sees us. No matter what we think about ourselves, we are beautifully created and abundantly loved.
I had to get my first tissue after reading the dedication -
To my Sweet Audrey, who continues to leave her mark on every page of the story.I had a few sniffles through the story, too.
If you have read Angie Smith's blog or read some of her other books, you might know that there is a real Audrey, and there is a real bunny, and it has a smudge on it - the smudge which made it the only one that Angie wanted.
The book tugged on my heartstrings. I wish I had owned it when my boys were younger and first realized that they were "different".
This is one that will be read again and again. The Parent Connection activities at the end of the book are designed for thoughtful discussion and will also serve as faith builders for parents and children.
Breezy Brookshire adds the perfect illustrations - warm and cozy, slightly muted to compliment rather than overpower the story, and very beautiful. Breezy has a website - BreezyTulip(dot)com that I really enjoyed. She has a bio, a portfolio, and blog, and a link to her Etsy shop where she sells (very affordable!) prints.
I am happy to announce that I get to give a copy of this book to one of my readers! If you would like a chance to win please use the Rafflecopter form below to submit your entries.
