When family members are not getting along it can rub off on everyone.  The family in this movie illustrate this very well.  They also combine their family troubles with a serious inability to communicate.  The story begins with a huge mess.  The sisters haven't spoken in years, the parents are having marital trouble, one sister is having serious personal problems and the other is sorely lacking in social skills.

Amazingly, when Kate sets her mind to fix it all, things fall in to place perfectly.  The greatest guy (ever) has moved into the family's old home, (and he is really good looking, too!) the sisters begin to heal their rift, and a magical Christmas plan comes together.  On Christmas Eve they hit a few bumps in the road, but by Christmas Day things are looking up again.

Coming Home for Christmas Special Features
I am a big fan of family, love, holidays, forgiveness, and happy endings.  I think it is fair to say that this one is slightly sappy and you will have to suppress thoughts about how some of the things would just never happen in real life - but hey - it is Christmas after all - the best time of year to believe in the unbelievable.

I have been invited to offer a copy of this DVD for giveaway.  If you would like to try to win it, please use the form below to enter.
