Less Words Wednesday – Rest in peace, Sweet Kitty

Usually when my cats are the subject of a Wednesday post, it is comical.

Unfortunately, this week, it is sad.

Our sweet girl passed away last night and there have been many tears shed.

Sweet Kitty

The Quotes on the photo didn't shrink down very well, so I will put them here, too.
“PIPPIN: I didn't think it would end this way.
GANDALF: End? No, the journey doesn't end here. Death is just another path, one that we all must take. The grey rain-curtain of this world rolls back, and all turns to silver glass, and then you see it.
PIPPIN: What? Gandalf? See what?
GANDALF: White shores, and beyond, a far green country under a swift sunrise.
PIPPIN: Well, that isn't so bad.
GANDALF: No. No, it isn't.”

About The Cats

There has been much progress.  The little one wants to be with the big one all the time.

The big one has made great strides in terms of tolerance, and has even been seen grooming the kitten, and sharing her "sun spot" for naps.

One is Silver and the Other is Gold

I still remember the song I learned in grade school:

Make new friends, but keep the old,
One is silver and the other is gold!

On Tuesday, we adopted "Inky"
She is definitely precious Silver. Very funny, sweet, and adventurous.

Except to our Gold.  "Mrs Puff" who is not really thrilled with the new addition.

It has been very funny watching them interact. Each day, they get a little bit closer to each other. We have been keeping the kitten away from Mrs Puff's territory, and they each have separate food, water and litter. They kept a wide berth on the first day, and each day the divide is a little less.  I hope soon they will be curling up for naps together.
