Gratitude Challenge ~ Day 10

Today we celebrate the 235th birthday of the United States Marine Corps.

I'm grateful for all the selfless men and women who volunteer for all of our armed forces.   I can only imagine the amazing fortitude required to put one's life on the line to protect and defend freedom.   (Freedoms that most people take for granted!)  I'm also thankful for their families who sacrifice so much.   Having to uproot and move, or getting the call to deploy overseas.   It's hard to have that empty place at the table - for the big things, sure - but also for the little things we never miss until they aren't there anymore.  For these families the fragility of life is palpable every day.

Thank you to all who serve and to their families; and a special Happy Birthday to the USMC!
