Gratitude Challenge ~ Day 17

Last night, rain poured down, and winds howled outside - but I was safe and warm in my bed.  In the wee hours of this morning, there were storms.  Lightning flashed, and thunder shook the house, but my family was inside, safe and dry.  Boy two woke up, and I was able to comfort him back to sleep.  This morning, everybody slept a little bit later than usual.  When the boys finally woke up, first one, then the other straggled into my room.  At 8:45 AM I had two precious boys, and two sweet cats on my big, warm, cozy bed.  Today, I am grateful for contentment, and the ability to keep my boys safe from the storms.  The actual ones, and the ones in their minds and hearts.

  2. AMEN! I love that our children turn to us with their pains and fears and we are able to help them... and I pray nothing ever touches them that is too big for us to comfort... but rest in the knowledge that He who made them can comfort them even when the fear or wound is deeper than we can handle.
    Good post!!!
    Blessings,
    Shannon

  5. It stormed here too these past couple of days. I love this post. I too am thankful that I can shelter my kids from the storm. I always think about homeless people when it's storming and hope and pray that they can find shelter from it.

  7. I like when it rains but our storms can get pretty bad here. They always make me nervous. Being comforted inside is a nice feeling!

  9. When "family" and "love" both find shelter in one's heart, they bring contentment. It is the best of everything.

    Love your post!

  10. You must live near me; we had storms all lastnight too. 2 of my boys came in bed with me and we read extra stories about nice things and they weren't scared anymore. Always thankful for warm beds and cuddles!

  13. I love lying in bed listening to the storms. I am thankful my kids enjoy the same warm comfy pleasures of curling up under their blankets and listening to the sounds and watching the light show outside their windows.
