Holiday Bliss ~ December 13th

Holiday Bliss

Today I'm going to post the picture of the nativity that we have set out most prominently.   I love this set.  Last year when I was unwrapping it, I was having a bad day with numbness, pain and tingling in my hands.  I dropped baby Jesus, and he broke in two.  I was able to glue him back together, but I couldn't help but feel awful.  Even though it was just a little ceramic piece, I couldn't stop feeling bad about it,  so I posted about it on my facebook wall.  (isn't that the only proper response in this day and age?  LOL)

I got some interesting comments.  Here are some of my favorites:
  • He endured so much more than that Catherine. I'm sure God forgives you
  • I replied: That's the truth, ___  Still, I would have felt better if I dropped the donkey."
  • I'm cracking up over the donkey statement. But REALLY how apropos that you dropped Jesus to remind you that we are ALL broken and ONLY HE can fix it....
  • Catherine, I am so sorry to hear you are having trouble with your neuropathy. I know how badly you feel about breaking the baby Jesus from your Nativity scene. Luckily you were able to repair it. Perhaps it shows you that no matter what happens, things can always be fixed if one has faith.
  • Catherine I think your post inadvertently got a lot of us thinking about the true reason for the season. Thank you for sharing.
Here is the Nativity with the repaired baby Jesus.

  1. What a beautiful nativity set! I think my m-i-l bought me one a few years ago (now I'm going to have to search for it- if it's not just my imagination!). We usually are gone for the holidays and I usually forget to put these things up...but I'm going to this year! Maybe our cat will enjoy it while we are gone :) I know the lady that will be coming to check on things throughout the time we are gone will :)
Thank you for stopping by and leaving a comment on my blog- I appreciate it :)

  2. I loved your post, Catherine. I know how you felt about Baby Jesus. I am the same way when things like that happen! Your friends had some very wise thoughts on the subject. You are blessed.

I would love to chat email-wise with your about your FM sometime. I have been having problems lately, and several docs have tried the labels of FM or CFS, but an ND I am seeing calls says it is more likely adrenal exhaustion.

I would love to hear your story, what you've tried, etc., if you have time any time, before or after Christmas, to look me up on the TOS board and send me a note. Thanks.

Blessings to you for a wonderful Christmas.

  3. What a great post, your friends had some good responses. It made me think that someday we won't have to deal with the pain we experience in our earthly bodies.

  4. Great story and I love all the comments...and I would have been upset if I dropped baby Jesus!
