A Sneak Peek at the Jordan Gatorade 6 Shoes Due in Stores 12/16

Jordan Gatorade 6
The Jordan Gatorade Six

Somebody made a mistake at a nearby Finish Line store, and we were able to pick up this pair of Gatorade Six Jordans on October 31st.  I've worn them a few times and people have taken an interest in them, so I will share my sneak peak with you.

Here is a quick video review (my hands, my son's voice.)

I found they fit well, true to size.  They are also comfortable!  I walked all over NYC the first day I wore them - a bold idea for any new pair of shoes.  My feet felt fine at the end of the day.  Also, even after quite a few miles, the creasing was not too bad.  Additionally, the New York dirt came off of the nubuck easily, even without any Crep.

For a GR, they are not a bad pickup.  Many people who have seen them have compared them to Carmines.  I'm sure we'd all like to have the Carmines, but for a smaller price tag you can grab these for a walking around shoe.

They will be in stores for everyone on December 16th.  Maybe Santa will have a few pair on his sleigh this year, too!

This is a "just because" post, I was NOT given a sample for my review.

That said -  if anyone wants to hook me up with a plug to do sneaker reviews, me and my sons would be all over that!!

When I was fairly new to homeschooling I had the extreme good fortune of a strong online community of seasoned veterans to help me navigate my way.  One of the mothers I met was Jennifer, and you can get to know her through her own blog A Glimpse of Our Life

If you stop by to visit, you will see that she is a great mother, a fantastic teacher, and you will probably pick up on the fact that she is a warm, caring person, too.  One of the things I love about how she is raising her children is that she encourages them to try a lot of things and as a result they are very creative.

Earlier this year they learned how to make designs with a laser cutter, and they have really honed their skills!  Check out the photo collage below to see see a sample of some of their fantastic work.  Just look at the beautiful snowflakes, the keepsake box, the beautiful Nativity Scene and the ornament with the three wise men.

Don't you love these designs?  Some of the details on the pieces are remarkable!  The Facebook page has more photos, including puzzles and a post about how they fit the boxes together.

It is a little bit hard to tell, but this snowflake is painted with a silvery glittery glaze and when it is on the tree, light catches it causing glimmering and sparkles.  It measures about five inches across and sells for $6 (shipping included)

The little robot was a request from a boy named Tucker.  If you would like a Tucker's Robot these are $4 (add a dollar if you would like a name etched on)

Curs by Laser ChristmasDon't you love this ornament?  Look at the intricate work on the holly leaves!

In this last photo you can see some musical designs and two of a set of four coasters which have wildflower designs.

You can contact Jennifer by way of the facebook page linked above.  Feel free to inquire about any design ideas you might have.  Alternately, you can email her at   cutsbylaser@yahoo.com

Jennifer and her daughters also have a Lila Rose business which you can learn more about on her website or Facebook page.

If you are looking for something unique and special this holiday, please consider Cuts by Laser.  In addition to picking up some neat gifts you will be helping some young people with their education in art and entrepreneurial skills!

BERG Pedal Karts Make Wonderful #Christmas Gifts! @bergtoysusam

BERG USA Karts

When he was a young boy, Henk van den BERG built a pedal go-kart in a barn on his parents' farm.  As soon as he let his friends have some fun with it, they all wanted to have one too.  Little did he know that this was the modest beginning of the BERG Company.

Now, several decades later, BERG makes some of the most incredible pedal karts you have ever seen!. These beautiful pedal go-karts come in many colors, shapes, and sizes.  You will find them for sale in more than forty countries. They even have some special lines with Jeep and Ferrari branding.

The first thing I noticed about the BERG Karts were the attractive designs.  Upon closer inspection I was taken in by the sturdy construction and craftsmanship.

BERG's designers do a great job keeping up with the latest trends.  Together with the engineers they combine style and function to create an outstanding product line of very high quality, eye catching pedal karts.

In addition to the attractive appearance, these karts undergo strict quality control. The company takes great care in its manufacturing process - allowing only the best materials and manufacturing techniques. Then there is quite a bit if testing done to ensure that the pedal karts are safe, comfortable, and durable.

BERG pedal karts are a great choice for any child, but there are also some great hidden benefits for special needs kids as well. When thinking in terms of my own sons (who have Asperger Syndrome) pedaling provides some much needed ankle and knee joint compression.  They are also getting exercise for their large muscle groups. This type of work can improve balance, coordination, and body awareness.

Also, managing a two wheeled bicycle can be a tough task for a kid on the autism spectrum.  A pedal kart provides stability - and an alternative that is cool!  Kids can join in the pedaling fun without feeling embarrassed or frustrated. When my sons outgrew their training wheels they would have loved a BERG pedal Kart!

BERG Toys also makes a product line called MOOV.  I just love this concept!  Children can design and build their own actual ride on toys. What a cool way to combine planning, building and playing  What great exercise for the mind, and the body! There is also a sense of pride and accomplishment.

The whole lineup of BERG karts can be seen by visiting the BERG USA website at www.bergtoys-usa.com/. You may also choose to like the facebook pagefollow on Twittersubscribe to the BERG USA blog or check out the YouTube channel.

Order by December 19th to ensure delivery in time for Christmas!
