Friday's Fave Five ~ March 11th

Friday's Fave Five

It's Friday again, and that means it's time for Friday's Fave Five, a great meme hosted by Susanne at Living to Tell the Story.   If you'd like to join in, make a blog post about your five favorite things from the past week., then follow the link and add your post.

Here are mine:
  1. Although we had an enormous amount of rain, we did not have to shovel it.  We sat inside, and happily let the sump pump do all the work this week.  While looking at the devastation in Japan, I feel lucky and grateful, and won't utter one word of complaint about our weather.

  2. The taxes are done, and we don't owe anything.  That's always a good feeling.

  3. Boy One was amazingly brave during a doctor appointment.  It involved an in-office procedure, a scalpel, and some chemicals.  He was nervous, but he trusted me, and he didn't panic.  His brother also sat quietly and didn't fuel the fire with his fears for his brother's well being.  It doesn't seem like much, but as a mother of boys with Asperger Syndrome, I am sorry to say that anxiety can easily rule the day - and it has a domino effect when it gets too big.  This was a really big deal, and I showered them with praise and affection for their faith and courageousness.

  4. Shrove (Fat) Tuesday.  We kept with tradition, and had donuts for breakfast (they don't like pancakes) and Ice Cream Sundaes later in the day.

  5. Ash Wednesday and the beginning of Lent.   This year I'm taking part in a daily meme Forty Days of Seeking Him hosted by Trish at  A House Upon the Rock.  It's really helping me to celebrate  the season.  I'm looking at Lent through a new prism this year, and blogging about it is helping me keep the right frame of mind.
Thanks Susanne, for this great meme.
